The 2022 Nissan GT-R, as well as two special edition models, have been shown.

The Nissan GT-R initially appeared in 2007, and 14 years later, Nissan is continuously upgrading its flagship supercar to keep it competitive with more current vehicles in its league. Nissan unveiled the redesigned 2022 GT-R earlier this week, along with two new special edition models: the Premium Edition T-Spec and Track Edition.

• Special edition models include custom styling and colour options.

• Only 100 units will be available.

• The same 565hp, 3.8-litre V6 engine powers both vehicles.

What's new about the Nissan GT-R 2022?

The Nissan GT-two R's new special edition vehicles have been designed to Nismo requirements and include unique body panels, improved brakes, and two distinctive colour choices. To begin, both the T-spec and Track Edition versions have been upgraded with carbon-ceramic brakes, a carbon fibre rear spoiler, restricted badging, and a special engine cover.

The Premium Edition T-spec cars also include an unique interior with pearl suede highlights, a quilted Alcantara finish for the dashboard, and semi-aniline leather-appointed seats. It also receives new Rays forged alloy wheels in bronze, a larger wheel rim, and lighter components beneath the suspension springs.

Track Edition versions have a carbon fibre roof and bootlid, as well as technologies developed by Nismo, the company's in-house tuning and performance arm.

They also have Midnight Purple and Millennium Jade paint choices, paying tribute to previous generations of GT-Rs that employed these colours. All Premium Edition T-spec and Track Edition vehicles will be on sale in the second half of October, with just 100 units produced.

Details about the 2022 Nissan GT-powertrain R's

Mechanically, the 2022 GT-R is almost unaltered. It is still powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine with 565hp and 633Nm. There is also a higher-spec variant with 591hp. The engine is connected to a 6-speed DCT transmission with paddle shifters, and power is distributed to all four wheels.

Nissan's presence in India

The new GT-R will not be available in the United States since it is a limited production model manufactured just for Japan. Nissan has had some success in India with the Magnite small SUV, which has tremendously aided in the revitalization of the brand. However, Nissan will not be releasing any new vehicles in the foreseeable future.
