The MG Astor will be released on October 11th, and price will be revealed.

 On October 11, MG Motor India will reveal pricing for the Astor SUV. The MG Astor is essentially the petrol version of the ZS EV, with slight stylistic modifications and additional amenities. The Astor will be available in two engine configurations and eight variations. So far, here's what we know.

Engine-gearbox combinations for the MG Astor

The MG Astor will be powered by one of two engines: a 110hp, 1,498cc normally aspirated petrol or a 140hp, 1,349cc turbo-petrol. The 1.3-litre engine will be offered only with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, while the 1.5-litre engine will be available with either a 5-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission.

MG Astor's lineup is divided into eight versions.

As previously stated, the Astor is available in eight different colours: Style, Super, Smart Std, Smart, Sharp Std, Sharp, Savvy, and Savvy Red. Except for the top-spec Savvy and Savvy Red trims, the 1.5-litre petrol engine with a manual transmission will be offered in all trims. The Astor Style model will not have an automatic transmission or the 1.3-litre engine.

MG has placed a strong emphasis on its artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled voice assistant and equipped the mid-size SUV with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which use a camera and radar mounted in the vehicle to perform functions such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Lane Departure Warning (LDW),Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist and so on.

LED headlamps and DRLs, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery, an electric parking brake, a tyre pressure monitor, a 360-degree camera, heated wing mirrors, steering weight adjustment with driving modes (normal, urban, dynamic), a panoramic sunroof, and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are among the other notable features on the top-spec Astor.

Safety characteristics of the MG Astor

Six airbags, ABS, EBD, braking assist, ESP, traction control, hill start and descent control, and rear disc brakes will come standard, in addition to ADAS capabilities on higher-spec versions.

The pricing of the MG Astor is anticipated to be disclosed before its October 11 debut.

In an interview with Autocar India, MG President and MD Rajeev Chaba stated that the company's goal for the Astor is to sell about 3,000 vehicles each month.

We believe that the MG Astor will be priced competitively, between between Rs 10 and Rs 16 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom).
